Time Magazine 100 for Miyamoto

Chris Kruger

Nintendo's star game designer Shigeru Miyamoto has made it into the runnng for Time magazine's 100 most influential people this year.

He's currently placed at about number 31 in the votes tally so far, just above footballer David Beckam and just below superinvestor Warren Buffet.

Considering the amount of trash press coverage of Beckam it certainly does come as a surprise that pursuits of a humble Japanese game designer are considered more influential. We can only be happy at the ever growing status of video games and their designers.
