Wii clobbers PS3 in sales

The latest figures show that Nintendo's Wii console outsold Sony's PlayStation 3 nearly 4-to-1 in Japan in February. Wii software titles have also dominated best seller lists.
331,627 Wii consoles where sold in the 4 weeks straddling January and February. In contrast the PS3 shifted 89,131 times, Enterbrain reported on Thursday.
The Wii's lead on the PS3 appears to be widening: In January, Nintendo's game console outsold Sony's by almost 3-to-1.
The Wii has been dominating the game console "war" with the PS3 and Xbox 360. It's accessible games and appeal to the casual gamer have allowed it to expand the overall game population, hightening it's success.
Microsoft have fared no better in the current generation stakes in Japan. It is struggling to gain market share having sold a mere 14,079 Xbox 360 consoles.
