Japanese XNA Competition Results

The Japanese branch of Microsoft has selected the winners of the 2008 XNA Spring Contest - Famitsu Magazine reports.
Just like the contest held for developers outside of Japan the entrants consisted only of student and indie titles.
In the top mentions was Mazer Mayhem by known Indie Shoot-em-up developer Kenta Cho (ABA Games). Some others games receiving a gong include a mech game called Armored Strider and a puzzle game known as Yamakake.
Online magazine Kotaku suggests that the Japanese entrants have managed to make more "Xbox" like games than their Western counterparts. This seems even more significant considering the current lowly penetration of the Microsoft system into the Japanese market (compared to the USA for example).
